My Colony 0.29.0 Release Notes
#1
The new update for My Colony is out with a couple of improvements as well as further expansion of the Zolarg race.  Here is what's new!

My Colony v0.29.0 Changelog

New Stuff
  • New Techs: Sugar Cultivation, Antanium Production
  • New Structures: Sugarcane, Antanium Smelter, Elders Mound, Mining Operation, Food Processing Facility
  • New Resources: Antanium
  • New ad-free Structure: Statue of Emperor Zolarg
Changes
  • In Engine Settings, the auto-backup feature can now be turned off.  This is for devices with limited storage space.
  • Various bug fixes on all platforms
  • The premium upgrade price has gone up by $1.  I figure the game is getting pretty big, so its probably worth at least $3!
Desktop users had been reporting an issue where the stats menu would not open on older colonies.  This bug should now be fixed.  There have also been game save fixes on Android, and a whole bunch of bug fixes on the Windows 10 (Windows Store) hosted web app edition of the game.

The next few updates are all going to be Zolarg updates, so stay tuned.  I am getting close to adding Zolarg government structures for independence and capitals/consulates, so you will soon be able to have Zolarg based commonwealths.  Eventually I will be implementing the Federation level of government, where human colonies and Zolarg colonies will be able to join together in alliance.  Online trading will also be coming soon to the Zolarg, as well as new human structures that require buying both Sugar and Antanium from the Zolarg.  So stay tuned, lots more to come!

The Zolarg are neat, but I hope the human colonies will get some attention in future updates.

Federations? Awesome! May I provide you with some inspiration of how it could work?

I set up a role for you so you can see the inside of the federation. Maybe it will give you some ideas of how it could work.

It takes a while, and the technology to get there requires quite a bit of ore (my guess is around 6,000 - 10,000).  So save whatever ore you get and play it safe while slowly waiting for the few buildings to produce what you need to get that tech.

I think once you get to a certain number of colonists, its too much for the game to handle
avatar
Ive found it best to 1. Fire Drill 2. Return to Title 3. Reload page 4. Load game
avatar
screw it ill just reload to before the god damn firedrill and stop trying to grow that colony. . . shame
avatar
yeah i think its actually that protesting crap thats bugged it up. . . . there where initially 200 or so protesters a with 2000 unhappy. . . now since hitting firedrill its gone up to basically 80% of population is unhappy. more than 12000 sick [initially 366 before firedrill] . . . basically since the protesters are occupying the same space essentially overloading game, it reduced the game speed and just bugged it up so that it completely collapses in on itself thats a great bloody system right there
avatar
Try saving and reloading? That fixed it for me when a fire drill seemed to take forever to put people back to work
avatar
cant even starve them to death because i have a huge stockpile of food, cant sell the stuff or send it to my other basis because of all the bloody trade restrictions
avatar
is there anyway to kill all my colonists. . . i hit the firedrill button to move the citizens around and its likely to take 1 - 2 years [realtime] until the games back working . . . hit it 1 hour ago its only 1% people housed / employed now out of 36000 people
avatar
Done
avatar
Thanks, filing report now.

Is there a topic on proper bug reporting procedure?
avatar
And that's it. Brilliant!!!!
avatar
I did try to flip the new tall food building, that might be it. Let me try it
avatar
OK, going "flat" works.
avatar
Hmm...let me try that
avatar
it happened to me before when i flipped a type of building and i guess it didn't have a flipped sprite ready for it. its long fixed now but what you're experiencing sounds like it.
avatar
@jomaxro darn...i have an issue similar to that before. try click the transparency mode button and see if anything changes..
avatar
So I've run into a strange issue after updating to .36 on the Desktop - when I load any save or backup it loads, but everything is black. The resource data appears at the top, as does the building menu on the right, but I can't see my colony
