  Resources production rate stat
Posted by: mathiasg10 - 12-04-2016, 04:59 AM - Forum: Game Ideas, Suggestions, and Feedback - Replies (1)

In the Statistic menu there should be a resource production speed stat, but since it probably takes some time to get the numbers it should say "as of *Time in seconds* ago". ex. "Ore: 537 unit/sec as of 2 seconds ago". Probably not such a good idea but at least it might inspire some other ideas

  Unwanted Harvesting
Posted by: Bladematum - 12-04-2016, 03:16 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (4)

I leave certain vehicles in Park ready to harvest pre-positioned resources when I need them. This helps keep game lag to a minimum. Since the last update these vehicles will start to randomly commence harvesting (I say random because if it is being triggered by something I am doing I cannot figure out what it is).

New twist - I corralled my lumberbots behind some decorative trees to stop them harvesting. Saved, came to the forum to report the bug, went back into the game and the bots jumped the decorative fence to start harvesting. ?

Update - Even selecting a group seams to trigger others to start harvesting. it also triggers others of a different type i.e. starting to harvest timber also triggers my ore harvesters.

  Empire

(12-04-2016, 02:41 AM)bastecklein Wrote: I guess to get my head around it, we should open another topic of the whole arrangement of an Empire.  It would be the next step up from Independence.  But how is it then organized?  What is the benefit of joining an empire VS starting one?

In responce to this ...

we had one (Can we unite our colonies).. but it was unorganised, and not so many good ideas in there except sharing the resources .. but now with commonwealth at the way its not gonna be an issue

joining an empire VS starting one

Starting one should not be an easy thing to do or maintain
- having to breed people for the sub colonies
- create an automated common wealth system than needing to manually ship stuff to sub-colonies all the time
- politics and major cities that can access that automated system
- be part of a high end leader board
- some sort of political arrangements with other empires
-monies for you

Joining one should come after independence and via an invitation or accept only messages
- to get access to the main common wealth system
-- having this can get people to create specialised one-resource colony that feeds the empire
- get colonists from somewhere other than earth who can be better ( specialised workers or something)
- better pay rolls for workers and overall happiness
-  be part of something bigger and better

those are off the top of my head now,

  My Colony 0.18.0 Release Notes
Posted by: bastecklein - 12-04-2016, 02:20 AM - Forum: Updates and Announcements - Replies (28)

After the slow pace of the last update, this one had a pretty fast turnaround time, but it was due to bugs and not my amazing skills as a developer.  The update is at v0.18.0 on all platforms but Android, where it is at v0.18.1, and possibly going up to v0.18.2 before it's all over, but that's a different story.  Lets see what's new.

My Colony v0.18.x Changelog

New Stuff

  • New Structure: Decorative Fir Tree
  • Worker Salaries: Now at the Consulate or the Capitol, you can edit your worker salaries!  Give them more money to make them happy, or cut their pay to make them suffer.
  • Vehicle Self Destruct: All vehicles are now armed with a self destruct mechanism for when they have outlived their usefulness and you don't want to pay for a Chop Shop.
  • Resource Destruction: You can now destroy unwanted natural resources on the map.  Be careful, some of them you can never get back.
  • Executions: It's sad, but being a colonial governor, sometimes you have to make the hard decision to execute one of your colonists and take all of their money.

  • Carrying out the death penalty is the hardest choice a governor has to make.  It pains me to say that it took 6 executions to time this screenshot right.
  • Title Screen: The game loads to a nice little title screen now.
Changes
  • Reworked some of the menus to reflect the new title screen layout
  • When you construct a new resource (Gold/Ore Mines, Trees), idle harvesters will now automatically spring into action
  • Some under the hood changes and bug fixes
Anyway, I wanted to have a lot more content in this update, but the amount of bugs forced me to update early.  It looks like there are still a lot of bugs too, so idk.  The bigger the game gets, the more complicated the glitches!  Oh well though, work carries on!  Thanks for playing!

  Future of my colony
Posted by: MamaChick - 12-04-2016, 01:37 AM - Forum: Game Ideas, Suggestions, and Feedback - Replies (10)

I know this is a work in progress, and i am enjoying foing along with the ride. So I know there will be more features in the future, but for now, once you have all the buildings and reasearch... is there any reason to keep around like 60 banks and microchip factories? Will it ever just get to the point of simply maintaining your population and trying to keep them happy? Or will there be new resources, research projects and the like later on?

  Quick Delete Inbox?

I want a feature where we could just click a button that empties your whole inbox. Very helpful when lots of people delete and make new colonies under the same charter code over and over again...

  Game breaking Bug
Posted by: Erovice - 12-03-2016, 10:28 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (6)

With the new update the game can't load any saves at all, anda starting a new colony is impossible because when I click to start a new game after entering the name of the colony this menu continues after the game starts. Can't proced after this.

  Android Bug Testing
Posted by: Krynger - 12-03-2016, 06:41 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

I have some experience developing for mobile, mostly using AS with LibGDX.

I have a Google Pixel, LG V10, and LG G Pad 8 available for testing. If there are any bugs I can try to reproduce on my devices a produce a logcat.

I haven't had any performance issues on my Pixel since update 0.17 but I haven't tried it on the other devices yet.
